Mercedes-Benz Apps win “Mobile Excellence Awards“

At the annual “Mobile Excellence Awards”, the Mercedes-Benz Apps achieved first place in the category “Best Delivery Platform for Mobile“.
The Annual Mobile Excellence Award event highlighted original content creators, mobile app designers, and mobile infrastructure solution providers. This years award was accepted by Steffen Neumann of Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc (MBRDNA).

Mercedes-Benz Apps were first introduced in Europe as part of a fully-integrated multimedia headunit known as COMAND Online. In spring of this year the apps were also released in the U.S. as part of the Mercedes-Benz mbrace2 telematics system, leveraging cloud technology to bring an ever-expanding variety of infotainment services into Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Selected Mercedes-Benz Apps include Google Local Search with Street View, Panoramio image viewer, Weather, Yelp, Facebook, News, Morningstar Finance, and more.

All of the apps emphasize the functions most relevant to the user while driving. For example, the Facebook app is integrated with the vehicle’s navigation system, which allows the user to quickly post relevant driving information with just a few quick taps and no manual text entry.
