Delphi to Showcase EV/HEV Products at eCarTec Show
Delphi helps automakers navigate requirements of next-generation hybrids and electric vehicles.
MUNICH, Germany — Delphi Automotive (NYSE: DLPH) will display its latest electric and hybrid vehicle technologies at the eCarTec Munich 2012, 4th International Fair for Electric Mobility, which will be held October 23-25.
“With more than 20 years of experience engineering electric vehicles, Delphi has scalable products for all levels of vehicles including mild HEVs, HEVs and EVs,” said Edmund Erich, manager of e-mobility systems at Delphi Electrical/Electronic Architecture Europe. “We are currently in production with charging systems, high voltage wiring and connections, DC/DC converters, safety disconnects and power boxes, which include DC/AC inverters and battery packs and battery pack management. Many of these products will be on display for the public, industry and government during eCarTec Munich.”
Delphi’s EV/HEV technology portfolio includes the charge port inlet, vehicle sound generator, Li-Ion battery controller, on-board charger, unitary heat pump air conditioner, and electric variable cam phaser. Additional technologies include the wireless EV charging system, which automatically transfers power to a vehicle without the hassle of cords or connections. This hands-free charging technology is based on highly resonant magnetic coupling which transfers electric power over short distances without physical contact, allowing for safer and more convenient charging options for consumer and commercial electric vehicles.
Delphi is engaged in R&D activities supporting the development of pollution free car concepts and is actively involved in research projects. As an example, together with the Bochum University for Applied Science, Delphi is working on the design of an electric city transport vehicle ready for series production, called the BOmobil. With technical centers in every major automotive market around the globe, and manufacturing sites in 30 countries, Delphi is ideally suited to help automakers navigate the requirements of the next-generation hybrids and new electric vehicles. Delphi can provide full system integration, from power electronics to electrical/electronic architecture to electric propulsion systems and thermal management. Delphi can simplify the process for automakers by being the one-stop shop for their hybrid and electric vehicle technology needs.
During the event, product experts will be available to discuss Delphi’s range of EV/HEV products. For more information, contact Thomas Aurich at +49 (0) 202 291 2115 or email@example.com.
