Undeclared Peanuts Prompts Allergy Alert and Recall

A recall has been issued by Grand BK of their 7 oz. plastic container units of Black & Mix Crisp and Crisp Mix because the products may contain peanuts. Those with a peanut allergy or a severe sensitivity to peanuts are at risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction upon consumption.

The manufacturer failed to inform the labeling department of their ingredient change, and therefore the labeling on the product did not include peanuts as an ingredient. The recall was initiated after a consumer had an allergic reaction to the product. To date, this has been the only incident related to this item.

The affected products have been distributed to retail stores throughout New York and New Jersey. All of the products sold prior to July 27, 2012 are included in this recall and should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
