Airline turned to Sabre to meet their technology needs, making it the fourth Sabre-hosted carrier within the alliance

SOUTHLAKE, Texas, - Sabre Airline Solutions, the aviation industry’s largest software-as-a-service provider, has equipped Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR) with the necessary technology to enable their recent official entrance into the SkyTeam global airline network.

This much anticipated milestone for AR is part of its long-term restructuring plan, which includes upgrading their entire IT platform including revenue, network and flight planning solutions. In May 2011, the airline renewed its technology agreement with Sabre, including SabreSonic Customer Sales & Service (CSS). SabreSonic CSS is the industry’s only seamless customer sales and service solution enabling powerful points of sale and service. This industry-leading solution was the instrumental technology centerpiece to meet SkyTeam alliance integration requirements.

“Sabre’s management and continuous support have been crucial during AR integration into the Alliance. Coordinating a project involving 17 partners, multiple systems and IT suppliers has its challenges, but Sabre’s knowledge and experience ensured a successful transition" said Alejandro Nardi, Alliances Development manager, Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Sabre provides the airline with the capabilities essential for alliance membership. Now, passengers flying on Aerolíneas Argentinas can experience the benefits of the SkyTeam alliance. Aerolíneas Plus members will enjoy expanded global reach, be recognized by status, be able to redeem awards for travel, and be prioritized for boarding, seating, and baggage handling. SabreSonic CSS will also enable AR and other SkyTeam members to efficiently work together and deliver a seamless customer experience using interactive passenger and operational data.

John Elieson, General Manager of Sabre Airline Solutions in Latin America, said: “We are pleased to have partnered with Aerolíneas Argentinas to enable their growth strategy and entrance into the SkyTeam airline alliance. This project demonstrates how quickly and efficiently we can implement required technology for carriers joining airline alliances. We look forward to working with Aerolíneas Argentinas and the SkyTeam alliance to solve future airline business challenges.”

SabreSonic CSS gives airlines the freedom to execute their unique customer strategy with the flexible solution that helps airlines increase their revenue while delivering on their brand promise. Through its technology, Sabre will continue to support ongoing SkyTeam projects for Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Aerolíneas Argentinas joins SkyTeam’s network of more than 15,000 daily flights to over 990 destinations in 186 countries. The SkyTeam alliance will also greatly benefit from Aerolíneas Argentinas’ own network of 53 destinations around the world.

AR is also a valuable participant in the Sabre global distribution system, making available all its fares and inventory information for more than 350,000 travel agents and hundreds of corporations worldwide.
