E-Z-GO RXV® fleet golf car now in operation at Spain’s Valderrama Golf Club

Augusta, Ga. - - One of Europe’s most well known and respected golf clubs has acquired a new fleet of golf cars from E-Z-GO, a leading global manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles.

Valderrama Golf Club, in Sotogrande, Spain, recently received a fleet of 40 E-Z-GO RXV® electric golf cars. The fleet replaced an aging set of vehicles from a competing manufacturer. The RXV’s innovative AC Drive provides lasting operational savings to golf course owners and operators, with greater energy efficiency than traditional DC-powered electric golf cars, and full-time regenerative braking.

“I’ve been particularly impressed with the design of these new golf cars,” said Valderrama General Manager Javier Reviriego. “They are well made, robust and look good. The braking system is excellent, especially the way the brakes are applied automatically when the vehicle stops, and the battery life is giving us at least two rounds for every charging cycle.”

Valderrama has played host to numerous tournaments and events through the years, including the WGC-AMEX World Championships, the Andalusía Masters and the 1997 Ryder Cup. The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is ranked the top course in continental Europe by Golf World.

“We have 400 members and 12,000 rounds of golf played here and, as the number-one golf course in continental Europe, it is very important that the buggies reflect the quality of the golfing experience that we provide at Club de Golf Valderrama,” Reviriego said.

“We are honored to be selected to provide our vehicles to serve Valderrama, given its place and importance in the sport of golf,” said E-Z-GO President Kevin Holleran. “We are proud that the E-Z-GO RXV is a part of the magnificent golf experience provided to the members and guests of this historic club.”
