Features New Multi-Device Experience and Robust Library of Free Online Games

Reinvestment Shows AOL’s Commitment to Leading the Gaming Market

NEW YORK, NY – Games.com, a division of AOL Inc., today launched a brand new cross-platform gaming experience. With more than 5,000 free online games, a large library of mobile games, plus new engagement and personalization features, Games.com is set to be the destination for gaming. This investment in the gaming market demonstrates AOL’s commitment to providing its consumers with premium experiences. The announcement was made at GDC Online in Austin, TX.

“AOL users have always been passionate about gaming and we’re excited to give them an industry-leading experience that operates fluidly across all devices,” said John Fox, General Manager, Games.com. “We’re focused on creating an experience that allows users to discover, play and share games.”

The new consumer experience boasts an endless list of games to choose from, full-screen gameplay, and the ability to jump into a game with a single click. It allows each player to find his or her favorite games by bringing them front and center, highlighting a new game each day and suggesting related games. Games.com players will also have easy access to gaming history, badges, points and rankings via the new Social Bar, which is seamlessly integrated into the Games.com experience.

Phase 1 feature highlights:

-Cross-device functionality: Built on new technologies like HTML5, Games.com users will have a consistent and familiar gaming experience whether from a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone. As mobile gaming traffic is expected to grow 65% year-over-year through 2016*, the platform has been designed with a mobile-first mentality.
-Robust library of games: Through key partnerships with top game developers and distributors, including Arkadium, Big Fish Games, GameHouse, Iplay, Masque Publishing, Mochi Media, and Tylted, Games.com offers players a robust library that includes over 5,000 free online games.
-Search and discoverability: Games.com allows players to find their favorite games, regardless of device. The site also contains personalization features that allow players to easily discover and enjoy new games.

“This is just the start,” said Fox. “We have an exciting roadmap of new features and enhancements which will roll out over the coming months-including additional personalization and social features, opportunities for independent developers to work closely with us and many more games our users will love.”
