Allstate Introduces Usage-Based Insurance in Additional States
Allstate’s Drive Wise® program uses telematics technology to encourage and reward safe driving
Customers who think they’re safe drivers now have the chance to prove it and earn a discount for it on their Allstate auto insurance policy in four additional states starting October 8 with three more states slated for November and even more in 2013. Allstate’s usage-based insurance product, Drive Wise, measures things such as mileage, braking, speed, and time of day when a customer is driving. Using that data, Allstate calculates a driving discount for each customer using its telematics technology.
To date, more than 150 million miles have been recorded to help identify the safer driving habits that can earn participating customers driving discounts on their car insurance. Of the drivers earning a discount, the average savings is nearly 14% per vehicle.
