NEW YORK CITY – Investing services company Scottrade, Inc., will host a Client Education Conference Saturday, Oct. 20, in New York City to help local investors and traders make better informed financial decisions.

Event Location: Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers
811 7th Ave at 52nd Street
New York, NY 10019

Aaron Task, editor-in-chief of Yahoo! Finance and host of Yahoo! Finance’s Daily Ticker blog, will share his insights at the event into current market events and recent financial news.

The full-day event, which opens at 8:30 a.m. for registration, is part of Scottrade’s continued commitment to investment education. During the conference, Scottrade clients can network with other investors and traders as well as local Scottrade branch office associates and product developers. The free event is broken into three tracks to cover topics appropriate for the investor, trader and those interested in options trading.

Presentation topics include:

• Dividends or Growth: Do You Have to Choose?
• Screening for Stocks to Swing Trade.
• Option Greeks and Implied Volatility.

“Our presentation topics are aimed to assist clients with various investment strategies – from long-term, buy-and-hold investors to active traders with a higher risk tolerance,” said Kristin Grupas, Scottrade’s assistant director of client education. “Yet our goal remains the same for all attendees, and that’s to help them make better informed financial decisions.”

Scottrade complements its in-person client education with a robust online offering through the Scottrade® Knowledge Center, including live webinars, videos and how-to instructions on topics ranging from investing basics, online stock trading to understanding technical analysis. In the Scottrade® Online Community, clients ask questions and share strategies with one another.

Scottrade operates 505 branch offices nationwide, including 31 branch offices throughout New York state and five in Manhattan. Stock brokers at the branch offices are available to answer account-related questions, provide in-person and over-the-phone customer service, and give tutorials on the firm’s brokerage and online investment services. Though Scottrade does not provide advice, it offers educational resources to help self-directed investors make better-informed decisions. Branch offices also host regular small-group branch seminars on a variety of investment topics.
