New Montessori Infant Program Now Available in Huntington Beach and Irvine

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, September 28, 2012 – Parents of babies ages 3 -18 months now have access to two high-quality Montessori infant programs in Huntington Beach and Irvine.

“We are excited to be able to offer a high-quality child-centered alternative to the typical daycare setting for parents of babies in Orange County”, says Ray Girn, CEO of LePort Schools. “Our Montessori program is fundamentally different from daycare: we hire trained Montessori lead teachers, maintain a 1:3 ratio—vs. the 1:4 ratio at most daycare centers—and have created a beautiful, tranquil environment designed to respect the unique development needs of each precious child under our care.”

The Montessori infant program is available at the Huntington Harbor campus in Huntington Beach, and the Irvine Spectrum campus in Irvine. It offers the convenient schedules parents expect from a daycare center, but a very different environment. Rather than being confined to “containers” such as highchairs, playpens, or jumpers, babies get to explore on soft floor mats; low mirrors encourage tummy time, pull-up bars and small stairs entice babies to move. A wide range of thoughtfully designed activities—wooden puzzles, textured objects, mobiles, containers to open and close—stimulate babies’ growing brains, without the noisy, annoying plastic toys all too common in mot daycare settings.

“The demand has been overwhelming. Our Irvine program opened on September 4th, and it is great to see the babies explore their home away from home. The program has been at capacity from the first day, and we have a long and growing waitlist”, explains Heike Larson, Vice President of Outreach. “Parents are discerning when it comes to choosing childcare for babies, and they vote with their feet when a high-quality daycare alternative is available.”

The Huntington Beach Montessori infant program opens on October 1st. LePort expects the program to be at capacity by Thanksgiving. At this time, spots are available for immediate enrollment. Interested parents may visit www.LePortSchools.com/InfantInfo for details and to register for upcoming parent-child events to experience how Montessori baby care is different from daycare. The website also features a photo gallery, so parents can see for themselves just how different Montessori for babies is from traditional daycare.

Families who are interested in enrolling their baby are encouraged to contact the Huntington Beach or Irvine campuses early, to secure an advantageous waitlist spot well ahead of the date they expect to need a daycare placement for their child. Expectant mothers anticipating early child care needs are welcomed to secure a waitlist spot prior to their child’s birth.
