WEBWIRE

The Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) presented its annual Partnership Awards at its 17th Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado. DMEC recognized two long-time members who have shown exemplary support and dedication to the organization. The award winners are:

  • Deborah Kweller, President/CEO, Innovative Care Systems (ICS)
One of the first members of DMEC in Southern California, Kweller also was one of the first industry members to earn the Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) designation. Her employer at that time, Keenan & Associates, was an early supporter of DMEC. Kweller’s skill at networking and connecting people helped to establish DMEC as the peer-to-peer resource it is today. Kweller has consistently been passionate about DMEC and the value of integrated disability and absence management (IDAM).

Says Kweller, “I am very honored to be recognized by an organization that has not only been the  cornerstone of integrated absence management but also, the torch that provides the guiding light for those at any stage of program development.”
  • Dr. Gary Anderberg, Director of Business Development, Crawford/Broadspire
Dr. Anderberg assisted DMEC with the SinglePoint product launch when he was with Zenith Insurance in (year?). He has been a thought leader and innovator in the field of IDAM since its inception, and was the first to experiment with wellness in Workers’ Comp. Dr. Anderberg is a member of DMEC’s Executive Advisory Board and has strongly supported the association for almost 20 years.

Upon receiving the award, Anderberg remarked, “I am delighted to receive this recognition from the people who are in the trenches every day. DMEC is about what works and the people who work. This means a great deal to me.”

Since 2000, DMEC has awarded this honor to only 55 individuals, representing both the employer and supplier constituency. Criteria for the award include: long standing membership; participation in chapter and national committees; personal commitment of volunteer hours; passion for the advancement of absence and disability management; and willingness to promote the programs of DMEC to other professionals.
