Mary Celeste Catches a Wave

“The Mary Celeste Papers,” a new comedy novel by first time writer, Paul Gallimore, has far exceeded first day download expectations with 2 days of the Free download period still to run.

Luton, Bedfordshire, England – It may be the legend that is The Mary Celeste, or it may be the quirky front cover picture, but something has sent “The Mary Celeste Papers” storming up Amazon Kindle’s list of free downloads.
New authors never know quite what to expect when their offerings first meet the public’s gaze, but for Paul Gallimore the omens are starting to look good. Gallimore explained, ‘Even though the promotional period only started yesterday the downloads are already in the thousands and I have even started to get encouraging feedback from people who can only have read a few chapters at the most. I must admit to being a bit taken aback.’ The book’s home web site is to be found HERE.
So what makes literary enthusiasts choose one book rather than all the others on offer? ‘I suspect it’s a combination of things,’ Gallimore commented, ‘The Mary Celeste will be factor, so too must the cover design. I felt that it was important that the cover conveys that the book is essentially a mystery tale laced with comedy and I think we scored a success with that. Maybe people are just after fun in gloomy times?’
After the free period where does he think the famous old brigantine will take him? ‘No idea,’ he answered honestly. ‘Sales are one thing, but more than anything you just hope that people will feel that they got their 3 dollar’s worth.’
Free downloads are available for Kindle from 27-29 September HERE.
