Clifton Hill Niagara Falls To Host National Street Hockey Championship

From September 27 to 29, Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill will be teeming with some of the finest street hockey players in Canada.
 
It’s predicted that over 75 teams - and 10,000 street hockey fans – will flock to Niagara Falls to witness the crowning of this year’s Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! national champion.
 
The top four men’s teams and top two women’s teams from 19 events held across Canada will be battling on the streets of Niagara Falls for the coveted Redwood Cup and $30,000 in cash prizes.
 
“We are thrilled to be a part of such a significant event,” said Nicholas Tritchew, a Marketing Executive at nearby HOCO Entertainment & Resorts. “With the current NHL lockout, we are expecting the streets of Niagara to be buzzing with excitement.”
 
The event promises to be a cultural sports phenomenon, with matchups taking place on eleven open-air rinks, smack dab in the middle of Clifton Hill: Niagara’s World Famous Street of Fun by the Falls!
