About Specialty Motions Inc.
Specialty Motions Inc. began its shop in 1992 with the introduction of their first Bridgeport knee mill.  Located in Corona California, The SMI machining facility was established with the sole purpose of providing motion customers with value-added machining services that were not available in-house. Because of the intricacies of this technology these services couldn’t be done by the typical machine shop. The capabilities of Specialty Motions Inc. have grown to include Engineering Design, System Integration and Assembly of products to custom specifications. SMI also carries their own line of linear stages, ball slides and crossed roller tables based upon market feedback and customer input. The Specialty Motions Inc. tooling department contains a variety of carbide type cutters and tooling designed to penetrate, drill, and tap this material.
