Recently, a company named ’Limited Run’ reported fraudulent clicks as high as 80%. Social media expert, Wynne Pirini, reports his own findings and reveals how businesses can improve their results in his new book.

Says Pirini: “When I first read about Limited Run’s terrible results I was stunned. Facebook services are something that I sell my clients. So I needed to confirm just how big this issue was.” Pirini set up tracking systems, and after running multiple campaigns he reported some noteworthy findings. “I can report that across various campaigns roughly 5 to 20% of the visitors did not have javascript enabled on their web browsers. And the expected average is about 3%. That shows a significant discrepancy from what I would expect.”

However, Pirini is quick to point out: “there’s always going to be a certain amount of click fraud. It happens on every online advertising channel, including Google, and you just have to factor that into your budget. Click fraud on Facebook it’s not a significant issue.” He goes on to say: ”There are three main reasons why businesses fail to attract customers with Facebook. First, they are not targeting the correct audience with facebook ads. Secondly, they are not engaging prospects correctly. And lastly, they do not understand how to sell on the Facebook platform without driving away fans.”

To help business owners Pirini is releasing a new book titled ’How to Use Facebook for Business - Your Quickstart Guide for Getting New Customers Fast’. You can find out more about the book by clicking here.

The book will be heavily discounted during the official launch period of September 15 to 19, 2012.
