LePort’s New Irvine Private School Opens This Week

Irvine, California, September 6, 2012 – This week, 230 children will excitedly walk through the doors of their new school in South Irvine. LePort Schools, the Orange County private school group, is opening its sixth OC location in the Irvine Spectrum area. The new school offers a high-quality educational environment, grounded in Montessori principles, for infants through 8th grade students.
 
“We are excited to bring a high-quality private school and preschool to the Irvine Spectrum area,” says Heike Larson, Vice President of Outreach at LePort Schools. “Parent demand for our school has been high: the Montessori programs from infants through 1st grade are totally filled, and only a few spots remain in select classes in elementary and middle school.” 
 
The new school offers an authentic Montessori program for children ages 3 months to 9 years, and LePort’s proprietary curriculum for children in 4th through 8th grade.  
 
“Irvine is known for its high-quality public education. But with budget cuts, ever larger class sizes and the constraints imposed by the teach-to-the-test standards, we are not surprised that demand for our elementary and junior high program has been so strong”, explains Ray Girn, CEO of LePort Schools. “As a private school, we are able to limit class size to 16 students. We can hire teachers who are passionate about their subjects, and give them the opportunity to teach content in depth, in a way that makes learning enjoyable and accelerated at the same time. Parents interested in immediate enrollment for 2nd – 8th grade are encouraged to contact the school right away, as only a few spots remain open. LePort’s open enrollment period for the 2013/14 school year start in February 2013. Families are encouraged to tour the school in the fall, and submit a waitlist application by the February 15th, 2013 early enrollment deadline.
