(San Rafael, CA) Preventive Medical Center of Marin (PMCM) is hosting a FREE Workshop on Digestive and Gastrointestinal Health on September 27th for men and women.  In this age of Gluten Free and Raw Food Diets, questions surrounding what to eat can be confusing. Digestive issues prevent many people from enjoying their lives. Gastrointestinal Health can cause skin rashes, headaches and irritability. Knowing what foods work for your body and what foods don’t will help you lead a happier and healthier life. Our FREE GI and Digestive Health Workshop Discusses:

- How Detoxification can quickly uncover what foods are causing your problems - How to increase the flora in your intestine and other tricks to help your digestion and absorption - How to eat right to flatten your belly and feel great all day long.

Learn new approaches to managing your symptoms such as gas, bloating, and other issues caused by digestive problems, especially food allergies. Some commonly held myths and new approaches to help your condition will be reviewed.

About Elson M. Haas, MD, Medical Director Integrated and Preventive Medicine,

Dr. Elson Haas has been in medical practice since he graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1972 and then interned at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA. Over the past nearly 40 years, he has studied and incorporated many healing disciplines—Western and Eastern Medicines, Nutrition and Detoxification, Herbology, and Mind/Body Healing—into his ongoing practice. Since 1980, Dr. Haas refers to this multidisciplinary blend of care as Integrated Medicine.

Dr. Haas specializes in creating individualized programs for his patients utilizing dietary changes, detoxification, prescription medicines and nutritional and herbal supplements. Judy Lane received her NP, MS and RN degrees from Pace University and New York College in 1975, followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at the New York VA Medical Center. She continued to work in Ambulatory Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center. In 1985 Ms. Lane entered private practice with leading physicians in the field of Integrated Medicine in New York City.

She has lectured extensively and has appeared in the media with a focus on women’s health issues and natural hormone testing therapies. Judy Lane has been with PMCM since 1994, creating individually designed programs for her patients.  She is PMCM’s Director of Women’s Health and very popular with her patients.

Health CoachDr. Richard Shames is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. Prior to entering private practice, he received extensive training in conventional medicine with the U.S. Public Health Service, the National Institutes of Health, and other facilities. In the 1970s, as Medical Director of the Wholistic Health & Nutrition Institute (WHN) in Mill Valley, CA.

Dr. Shames and staff began the blend of conventional medicine with safe and appropriate natural remedies.
