Farin & Associates Enriches ALM Capabilities Urum Urumoglu joins the firm

Fitchburg, August 23, 2012 – Farin & Associates, Inc., one of the leading consulting firms that provides asset/liability management services, retail product-pricing solutions, education, consulting and core deposit studies to financial institutions, announced the addition of Urum Urumoglu to the FARIN team.  As Senior Consultant, Urum Urumoglu will help clients enhance utilization of asset/liability and pricing solutions to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.

Prior to joining Farin & Associates, Urum served as Senior Director, Mortgage Services, for Balance Sheet Solutions. Urum provided consulting to credit unions in the areas of mortgage banking, secondary market operations and asset/liability solutions. He also assisted credit unions in generating additional fee income through finding profitable niches in their mortgage operations, and to expand their mortgage-related product lines and delivery strategies. In addition, Urum provided training and education to credit unions for mortgage hedging and interest risk management strategies, as well as mortgage servicing rights (MSR), applicable accounting issues, and mortgage originations.
 
Prior to his position at Balance Sheet Solutions, Urum was Director of Finance at the University of Wisconsin Credit Union. Previously, he was CFO and VP-Secondary Marketing at Home Savings Bank.
 
Urum holds his B.S. in Economics, Accounting and Finance from the University of Istanbul, and his M.B.A. in Finance, Investments and Banking from the University of Wisconsin.  In addition, he has special training and education in the areas of Total Quality Management, investment portfolio management, and asset liability management.
