AUGUST 15, 2012 – St.Clair & Greschler, a local Colorado law firm specializing in areas of practice including business, employment and civil litigation, today announced the promotion of associate Dipak Patel from Senior Associate to Senior Litigation Counsel. This announcement comes as a result of Patel’s success during his seven year tenure at the firm. Patel joined St.Clair & Greschler in April, 2005 and his areas of practice include Colorado employment law, family law and general civil litigation (business/commercial disputes, personal injury).

Prior to joining St.Clair & Greschler, Patel worked in the civil rights arena as Intake Director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado before accepting an Investigator position with the Colorado Civil Rights Division. Born in Los Angeles, Patel relocated to Colorado in the early 2000’s and has been an active member of the Boulder/Denver legal community since 2001. Patel brings international experience to his new role, including fluency in English, Guajarati, French and Hindi and has lived and studied in Toronto, Oxford, Paris and Geneva.

Patel’s recent work includes:

  • Negotiated the resolution of a catastrophic personal injury claim for insurance policy limits
  • Successfully defended a medical doctor from an overzealous medical practice’s attempts to enforce a non-competition agreement and attendant liquidated damages forfeiture clause
  • Negotiated favorable terms of a severance agreement for an executive-level creative professional separated from an international company located in Colorado
  • Successfully defended a client in a trial against a party asserting a theory of common law marriage, fraud, and other civil claims


Additionally, Patel has participated in a variety of pro-bono activities including representing GS Boulder Cycling as an Executive Member and the Denver Bar Association as an Executive Council Member.

Patel’s experiences in the non-profit and public sector uniquely position him to represent both employers and employees through all stages of a dispute, from pre-litigation investigation and compliance, through mediation or trial. He routinely advises employers ranging from start-up companies embarking on personnel policies or handbooks, to larger employers responding to DOL wage-and-hour audits or EEOC complaints.
