According to Sebastian Kampmann, Staff Writer at News Eagle 360, “GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has narrowed his choice of Vice President running mate to one person: The Mitt Romney campaign plans to announce that House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan will be Romney’s Vice Presidential running mate as early as next week.” www.NewsEagle360.com

“According to a well-placed source out of Romney’s Boston campaign headquarters, the Wisconsin 1st District congressional representative has been vetted and approved by Romney and his staff. An official announcement has not yet been released, nor has the 7-term congressman’s staff confirmed the pick, yet the VP selection process is said to have ended,” noted Kampmann of News Eagle 360.

Paul Ryan brings some strong credentials to a vice presidential candidacy. As Budget Committee chairman, he is in the absolute center of the principal issue of 2012—the economy and how the government should best structure itself for fiscal resilience and long-term stability. Ryan has authored a plan to contain and reverse the fiscal crisis called The Path to Prosperity.

The plan is designed to spur job creation, reduce red ink programs, and ease the country out of its burden of debt. It even addresses the issue of entitlements, the so-called third rail of political conversation. Critics of Romney also rail against Ryan for wanting to curb entitlement spending, but the congressman has demonstrated a willingness to push back.

The congressman is a notably straight-forward politician, a conservative voice coming out of a state where principles are tightly gripped. The liberal political assault last year on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and his supporters in the legislature shows how deeply politics runs in Wisconsin, which is the home of the Republican Party.

“Ryan’s transparent political stances are reminiscent of other Wisconsin political notables, including Robert LaFollete. Ryan was just 28 and the youngest member of his freshman House when he was elected in 1999. The ensuing 14 years have seen the congressman rise to a position where he famously challenged President Obama in 2011 in a White House public hearing on the nation’s debt,” Kampman said.
