Female Personal Trainer on The Gold Coast Opens Exclusive Fitness Centre for Older Women

WEBWIRE

Gold Coast, QUEENSLAND, August 2012 – Carolyn Broomfield was a ‘late bloomer’ when, at the age of 52, she became a certified personal trainer and began working at commercial gym Fenix Fitness. Carolyn worked a sedentary job as a resume writer before the global financial crisis hit and she had to terminate her 3 staff members. To battle the bulge of depression and regain her youth, Carolyn began exercising for health and happiness and then decided to make the lifestyle change to become a Gold Coast personal trainer. www.nhf.net.au/

Despite having lost 30 kilo grams working hard with her own personal trainer, when Carolyn walked in to work at the gym she felt awkward surrounded by young trainers with ‘beautifully shaped bodies’ while she was fast approaching the ripe age of 55 – and she understood many other older women might too.

Carolyn says, “After speaking to many ladies both at the gym and outside of that environment, I strongly felt the need to help those ladies who felt intimidated going to regular gyms, whether it was a mixed gym or a ladies only gym, but still needed the guidance of a personal trainer to live a healthy and long life.”

Carolyn embarked on a journey towards fitness, nutrition and a healthy balance because she has three children and three grandchildren and “wanted to be around to see them all grow up”. And she has made helping other women do the same thing her passion ever since as a personal trainer for women. “My passion is to motivate other women to establish a healthy lifestyle and make fitness a part of their everyday lives so they too can be around for their children and grandchildren,” Carolyn says. www.nhf.net.au/

At Carolyn’s Highland Park personal training studio, New Horizon Fitness, women do not have to slog it out at the gym alone, surrounded by mirrors with people staring at them and wondering if they are doing it right. Instead, female personal trainer Carolyn guides them to achieve their fitness objectives with a fun and exciting customised fitness and nutrition program based on their health assessment and lifestyle.

Exercise options include one-on-one training, ‘Boost-Camp’ where women work out together in a team environment, and the ‘Walking Group’ where Carolyn’s clients enjoy an exhilarating power walk in the great  outdoors to get their hearts and muscles pumping whilst working out with other like-minded women.

New Horizon Fitness caters to women of all ages, shapes and sizes. With Carolyn as their Highland Park female personal trainer, women are motivated and not intimidated while exercising. In fact, Carolyn has helped a mother and daughter team lose 25 kg each, women recuperating from cancer, older women and menopausal women who want to maintain their fitness.
