BEVERLY HILLS, Ca. (August 1, 2012) - Jim Couri announces the completion of a fictionalized account of the exciting years spent embroiled in both the Nescafe societies of New York and Las Vegas and the dangerous underbellies that ruled them. “Confetti” by Marlene Couri and Eric Hunt is currently being shopped to publishers through Stardust Creative LLC and is also in negotiations to grant the film rights. The book’s feature character, “Mr. Conti”, grew up observing the political antics of his father and the Kings County Political Machine from his family’s Shore Road mansion in Brooklyn, USA. As a young man he used those lessons, along with serious mentoring from one of America’s greatest power broker attorneys, to shepherd big-money gamblers through these dual worlds, often lightening their bank accounts along the way. From the cold comforts of a European bank vault to the hot menace of the Venezuelan jungle, the story is a global tale of money, corruption and power that moves easily between Batista’s palace in Havana, Cuba, New York City’s Stork Club, El Morocco and Le Club to the casinos in Las Vegas and Santa Domingo. First and foremost are the maverick personalities. Confetti’s colorful, often-dangerous tales include rubbing elbows with the likes of Walter Winchell, Jackie Gleason and Frank Sinatra; all the while, the main character deftly navigates potentially hazardous work environments populated by double-crossing con men, icy drug lords, deadly mobsters and the CIA.

In her Introduction, Marlene Carroll Couri states, “I married an incredible storyteller. Jim Couri. This man dazzled me from day one and forever keeps me guessing and entertained. Whether Jim is creating a fantasy tale about the unknown couple across a crowed restaurant or straight-faced teasing a grocery clerk that he’s a CIA agent, my husband loves to stimulate intrigue.”

With “Confetti”, Marlene Carroll Couri and Eric Hunt have captured an intriguing and compelling saga, with two more novels in the works, “The Razzle Dazzle Man” and “Conspiracy at 60 Centre”.

Jim Couri is President of a number of investment organizations and famed publication and websites of Beverly Hills 213, as well as consultant to the highly acclaimed websites of Scams Inc. A recipient of the Senatorial Medal of Freedom, Congressional Medal of Distinction, Jim also served on the Congressional and Presidential Business Commissions as a business advisor. Furthermore, Jim was a founder of Duty Free International Corp., a public company. Jim is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), aiding abused and neglected children in court settings.
