San Antonio Remodeling Contractor Wins Summit Award for Best Remodeled Project

San Antonio, Texas USA – Jana Ward, president and owner of Clear Choice Flooring and Design, recently received on behalf of her company the Greater San Antonio Builders Association’s 2012 Summit Award – the Association’s highest honor – for having the Best Remodeled Residential Project completed within a $25,001 to $75,000 budget.
 
“Winning this award means so much because in this economy we are not only competing against the best remodelers in San Antonio, but we’re also competing against award-winning builders,” says Ward.
 
The winning project involved the complete makeover of a client’s kitchen. This included removal of the florescent light box, cabinetry, vinyl flooring, old appliances, kitchen faucet and sink, and laminate countertops.
 
They moved the stove to the opposite side of the room and converted it from electricity to gas. They also moved the refrigerator to the other side of the kitchen and added a second appliance so that there is now a freestanding freezer and freestanding refrigerator side-by-side.
 
In addition, Clear Choice installed new custom cabinets featuring custom pull-outs and full extension glides. They replaced the old laminate countertops with granite ones, added under-counter and recessed can lighting, upgraded all the old appliances with new stainless steel appliances, and installed a new undermount kitchen sink and kitchen faucet.
 
The judges who selected the winning entries were randomly selected members of the National Association of Homebuilders. They were flown in from out-of-state in order to allow fair and impartial judging. 
 
The Greater San Antonio Builders Association annually hosts the Summit Awards event. It’s when the “Best of the Best” San Antonio builders and remodelers are awarded coveted “Golden Eagles,” called Summit Awards, for their achievements in a wide range of categories involving construction and remodeling.
 
Ward, a Certified Graduate Remodeler and Certified Green Professional through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), has nearly 20 years experience in remodeling and interior design. One of the top designers in San Antonio, she has won 13 Summit Awards during the past 10 years for best remodeling projects, best show room, best website, and best radio ad.
 
Ward is a frequent television guest on WOAI-TV’s The San Antonio Living Show because of her expertise as both a remodeler and interior designer. She is popularly known as “The Construction Chic.”
