Reno, Nevada attorney, Lee T. Hotchkin recently reached a compromise settlement from an insurance company on behalf of a client. In a challenging case, Mr. Hotchkin as a Reno insurance litigation lawyer was able to secure a settlement, which provided $ 195,000.00 for his client.

Mr. Hotchkin’s client was awarded proceeds from a life insurance policy belonging to her ex-husband, in spite of the fact that she was not the beneficiary of the policy. “There were two big issues in the case;” said Mr. Hotchkin, “determining if the policy was community or separate property and determining if the deceased was competent to change beneficiaries prior to his demise.”

An adept negotiator, Mr. Hotchkin has previously, along with colleagues, recovered  $11,725,000.00 in settlements of a class action lawsuit for their clients, victims of the Truckee River Canal embankment failure and resulting flooding. The overflowing and breach of the canal resulted in more than 800 homes being flooded.
