Tamworth-based dealership Chambers Mazda is backing this year’s ‘Cars in the Park’ held in Lichfield’s 100-acre Beacon Park over the weekend of 30 June to 1 July to support the Midlands Air Ambulance.

This is the fifth year that Chambers Mazda in Tamworth has sponsored the event organised by the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad.  Entry to the 2012 event is free and it’s sure to be the biggest and best show so far, as it coincides with the Olympic Torch travelling through Lichfield on the Saturday and 15 different events will be taking place in town that day.

“We feel privileged to help such a worthwhile charity,” commented Janice Howes, Chambers Mazda Dealer Principal.  “It is amazing to see what a great job the participants and Rotary Club volunteers do to raise funds for good causes.  This year, Cars in the Park gives us an excellent opportunity to show off our newest Mazda model, the CX-5 compact SUV.  With its fuel-saving innovative SKYACTIV technology, all-wheel drive, lightweight chassis, refined suspension system, spacious cabin and responsive, sporty drive, this is a great car for active families.”

With remarkable fuel economy (up to 61.4 mpg) and CO2 emissions as low as 119 g/km, the all-new CX-5 is set to revolutionise the SUV market in Britain.  Chambers Mazda will also be displaying a line-up of Mazda vehicles including the popular compact Mazda2, larger Mazda3 hatchback and the iconic MX-5 sportscar – the world’s best-selling roadster.

The 18-strong line-up of CX-5 models is priced from £21,395 to £28,795 (OTR).  Customers can choose between one petrol and one diesel engine (with two power outputs), four trim levels (SE-L, SE-L NAV, Sport and Sport NAV), six-speed manual and automatic transmissions and 2-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) – depending on model.

After viewing the Mazda display and the dozens of vintage, classic and supercars being exhibited, visitors who are feeling adventurous can try flying a helicopter simulator, while others can support the charity by buying merchandise from the Midlands Air Ambulance shop.
