Microsoft Access Consulting Firm Delivers Client Management Solution for Matrix Medical Network
Help4Access, a provider of world-class professional Microsoft Access software development solutions, builds comprehensive, custom Client Management system to optimize Matrix Medical Network’s customer care process and remote capabilities.
Matrix Medical Network, based in Palo Alto, California, provides on-site medical assessments to health insurance plans and other medical service providers. By sending nurse practitioners to assess the health of plan members in their homes or care facilities, Matrix Medical provides the information health plans need to deliver the best care possible to their members.
In order to conduct remote medical assessments in a variety of locations, the nurse practitioners of Matrix Medical were using cumbersome, siloed, disconnected excel spreadsheet based solutions for capturing patient data. This process resulted in hundreds of spreadsheets containing vital patient data that were disconnected from each other and from any centralized data source. In order to eliminate error-prone duplicate data entry, boost overall data integrity, and provide real-time access to crucial data, Matrix Medical needed a new data driven solution.
“Companies of any size can find themselves in this situation,” explains Sasha Froyland, Help4Access Founder and CEO. “As companies grow, home-grown solutions to business problems are put in place to support growth and keep costs low. But companies reach a certain size when those disconnected home-grown solutions begin to hinder rather than help get the job done. Matrix Medical recognized they were at that turning point and looked to us to help them design and build the right solution with the right functionality at the right price.”
Sasha goes on to say, “Microsoft Access was the perfect tool to serve as the foundation for this solution because of our ability to rapidly create a custom database driven application at a fraction of the price of a traditionally developed software solution and because of its natural ability to integrate with the other Microsoft technologies selected for the project.”
Help4Access’s engineering team hit the ground running and quickly turned Matrix Medical’s high-level business requirements into a high quality custom built Client Management and Billing system. The team designed an easy to use interface that provides the nurse practitioners in the field with access to real-time patient and provider data and the ability to use the application and enter data completely disconnected. Data from the hundreds of existing spreadsheets was migrated into a centralized database and integrated with other critical data sources. Using a wide range of technologies including Microsoft InfoPath, Access, Excel, and SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle, and EDI, the team produced an integrated solution that eliminated hundreds of hours of duplicate data entry and significantly increased the capabilities of the nurses in the field.
