Article writing services company Content for Conversions announced that it is officially engaging in black hat SEO tactics in a concerted effort to take down the website SEOmoz – one of the leading search engine optimization firms in the world.


Content for Conversions shocked local businesses and industry peers this week when it announced that it will begin engaging in limited black hat SEO tactics – practices that are explicitly against search engine guidelines.  Traditionally a white-hat only firm, the company’s founder issued a statement that there is solid reasoning behind this move;

The challenge is controversial in an industry where strictly white-hat operations like Content for Conversions have staunchly opposed black-hat tactics for years.  But if the challenge is successful it will prove that some websites can be unfairly targeted as a result of negative SEO.  
Additionally, there is significant concern that an entire cottage industry of Black Hat or Negative SEO firms could spring up in order to wage competitor warfare.
Hudson explains further;
“The idea is to use spammy and outright manipulative SEO tactics in order to get SEOmoz penalized by Google.  This includes using tactics like forum spamming, buying home page links, spinning articles, blog comment spam and other garbage practices that any professional worth a grain of salt should be completely averse to.”
Hudson goes on to vent frustration about the constant battle with spam and other organic search manipulation efforts that his company regularly uncovers.  But overall, the content development firm’s founder is preoccupied with issues of integrity; 
“We would never normally use these types of tactics, but we believe this mission is important and we’re proud to be a part of it.  This is a big step in the right direction for the search industry, and we know that Rand [Fishkin] has friends in high places that will help out if we do our job too well.”
Hudson chuckles at that last bit, referring to Fishkin’s clout in the industry and the overall certainty that Matt Cutts and Google will correct the situation if the black-hat test is successful.
