Successful load out and sail away of Oyot A jacket and piles
AVEON Offshore Limited (AOL), a wholly Nigerian owned Oil & Gas service company (formerly known as GRINAKER-LTA Construction Nigeria Ltd) was awarded a sub-contract in 2009 for the fabrication of the Oyot A jacket (340 T) and piles (270 T). The sub-contract was awarded as part of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Mobil Producing Nigeria (NNPC/MPN) Joint Venture Satellite Field Development Project Phase 1 (SFDP 1).
Additional works relating to the same SFDP 1 project (fabrication of the deck process manifold and piping, fabrication of the Usari FR and Ubit GY hook up piping and structures, jacket and piles installation aids and sea-fastening) were awarded to AOL in 2010 and 2011.
The contracts, valued in excess of US$ 16 million, were executed at Aveon Offshore’s 240,000 sqm fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni near Port Harcourt; generated 155,000 productive manhours without lost time incidents, and culminated in the successful load out of the Oyot A jacket and piles and sail away of the transport barge by the 10th of April, 2012.
This successful achievement constitutes a strategic milestone in the development of Aveon Offshore (www.aveonoffshore.com) as a sustainable Nigerian fabrication yard serving the Oil & Gas industry.
