ISHM Sponsors a Series of Online Educational Videos

One of the goals of the ISHM is to promote the advancement of safety and health management through the application of management principles and the integration of safety and health into all levels and activities of management.  In support of this goal, the ISHM has become a sponsor of a series of educational videos produced by the IAQ Video Network.
 
The IAQ Video Network produces weekly educational video about issues related to exposure to environmental contaminants, pathogens and health and safety issues found in the workplace and home.  To date, the ISHM has sponsored three videos covering issues from combustible dust hazards to avoiding indoor environmental hazards when rebuilding a property following tornado damage.  Close to 1,000 people download these videos each day making them a valuable method for the ISHM to increase public awareness of important health and safety issues.  At the same time, these videos increase awareness of the ISHM’s important role in promoting professionals who protect workers.
 
The Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) identifies professionals through its certification programs that understand the role of the safety function in providing valuable support to organizations.  These individuals help to prevent performance errors and controlling hazards that may result in loss-producing incidents customarily called “accidents.”  Currently the ISHM offers the Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) and Associates Safety Health Manager (ASHM) certifications.
