Lancaster highly rated in Complete University Guide 2013

Lancaster is ranked ninth out of UK universities in the Complete University Guide 2013, published on 24 April 2012.

This ranking places Lancaster University in the top group which is led by Cambridge in first place followed by the LSE, Oxford,  Imperial College London, Durham, Warwick, St Andrews, and University College London.

The main rankings table is based on nine measures: Student Satisfaction, Research Assessment, Entry Standards, Student:Staff Ratio; Spending on Academic Services; Spending on Student Facilities; Good Honours degrees achieved; Graduate Prospects and Completion.

Lancaster University also scores highly in individual subject rankings, with Social Work ranked first;   Art and Design second; Linguistics third; Drama, Dance and Cinema fifth; Biological Science  and Geography and Environmental Science all eighth;  Accounting and Finance , Business Studies,  General Engineering and Social Policy all ranked ninth.

The subject rankings are based on four criteria: Student Satisfaction, Research Assessment; Entry Standards and Graduate Prospects.

This is the latest is a series of high rankings for Lancaster University:

• Lancaster is currently ranked ninth in The Times Good University Guide 2012.
• The Guardian ranks Lancaster seventh out of 120 UK universities in its University Guide 2012
• In the most recent UK Government’s Assessment of Research in 2008, over 90 percent of the research at Lancaster was found to be world leading or internationally significant with some key areas of research ranked top in the UK.

Lancaster’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark E.
