Over Coffee Looks to Engage Coffee Lovers in a New Way

On the horizon: A truly unique and exciting way to connect people across the world through coffee.

WEBWIRE

(New York, NY) Only a few months ago, Over Coffee launched its online social network and garnered the attention of a diverse crowd from around the world. From the more casual coffee drinkers to coffee bean distributors, roasters, innovative entrepreneurs, coffee bloggers, and even backpack travellers, Over Coffee continues to attract people from all ages, countries, and walks of life.  With the founding belief that “anyone can sit over a cup of coffee and, anything can happen,” Over Coffee is becoming a colorful website with intriguing personal coffee stories, featured interviews, and cross-cultural connections.

Now, the young company is looking to take the next step in web development to create a truly unique and exciting way to connect people across the world over coffee.  Over Coffee is currently gathering funds to work on a creative Interactive World Map with integrated social features.

The ideas behind the new interactive map and integrated social features will allow users to not only locate coffee shops nearby, but also coffee farms, roasters, distributors, baristas, and even us everyday folk who just want to grab a cup of coffee with someone interesting. As it is already a budding social network community with a basic Google Maps feature, the marriage between social network and a more visual and engaging “world map” is a seemingly natural and highly desirable fit. Jessica Jaffe, the founder of Over Coffee, has elicited feedback from the users of the website and the overall online coffee community, so this new idea has been encouraged and refined by the very community she hopes to better serve.

“Help turn a passion for people, stories, and coffee into a reality – both online and offline.”

Over Coffee has long term goals of bringing the community, life, and coffee stories of the site’s members to life by opening up a bricks and mortar Over Coffee café in the future. As a true start-up, Over Coffee is turning to alternative and more people-oriented ways of gathering funds. It’s newest video promotion and on-the-street style of interviewing coffee lovers from different backgrounds has received a warm welcome, as well as some laughs. At the end of April, it also launched an Indiegogo campaign, with the goal of gathering more online support for this new phase of development. Be sure to check out the Over Coffee Indiegogo campaign to see more details.

Stay tuned. This Over Coffee story is just beginning.
