Nov 5 (LOS ANGELES) ---Paul Crouch Jr., VP of Administration for the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), confirmed that the world’s most watched religious network has secured the exclusive rights to the broadcast television premier of the 2002 inspirational film “Joshua” (Epiphany Films) based on the best-selling1987 book of the same title by retired Catholic Priest, Joseph Girzone.
“‘Joshua’ is the story of a mysterious and charismatic stranger who arrives in a small American rural town and transforms the townspeople through various acts of kindness and down-to-earth spirituality,” says Crouch, the eldest son of TBN founders, Paul and Jan Crouch.
“It’s an incredibly moving motion picture that explores the concept of how our lives would be affected if Jesus walked among us in present day,” says Crouch. “Joshua at its core it is a powerful reminder, a message, of how the ‘Word of God’ can be applied to our modern daily lives.”
The motion picture soundtrack features Michael W. Smith and an all-star cast of Christian singers ranging from Jaci Velasquez to Third Day. The movie also plays host to a stellar cast that includes Tony Goldwyn as Joshua, F. Murray Abraham as Father Tardone, Kurt Fuller as Father Pat, Stacy Edwards as Maggie, Colleen Camp as Joan Casey, and Giancarlo Giannini as the Pope.
“TBN’s family fare provides what scores of American households are eager to engage in—entertainment that’s quality matched with contemporary content that nurtures family values and spiritual beliefs,” declares Crouch.
“TBN seeks to do more than merely entertain. TBN’s goal is to inspire people, engage their minds, and encourage their spirit through contemporary and positive programming that speaks to the heart of people from all walks of life. TBN plans to offer more movies, documentaries, and eventually sitcoms and dramas that can reach a broader audience. We’re becoming more inclusive when it comes to venues that will impact society in a positive manner,” says the network’s VP.
Joshua is scheduled to premier on TBN, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, at 2:00PM and 7:00PM PST.
TBN offers 24 hours of commercial-free inspirational programming that appeals to people in a wide variety of denominations.
