TestAmerica Supports General Motors’ GREEN Water Monitoring Program Event to Promote Science Education

TestAmerica has been invited by General Motors (GM) Company to participate in an award-winning Global Rivers Environmental Education Network (GREEN) program event hosted by Earth Force Inc. The GM GREEN Water Monitoring event provides local students hands-on experience to help assess, improve, and sustain their own community’s watersheds and water quality issues. The April 30th event will take place at Mill Creek near Volney Rogers Middle School in Youngstown, Ohio. Students from Volney Rogers Middle School and Youngstown Chaney High School will participate.

The GM Lordstown site engineers in conjunction with Youngstown University, and the Youngstown public school system have been studying the local Mahoning River for five years. TestAmerica was invited to demonstrate environmental field sampling and chemical testing procedures, including analysis via a mobile laboratory and data reporting.

The GM Foundation continues to invest in early education to nurture future innovators in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), with critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, and decision making skills.
