The Iceland tourism campaign, Inspired by Iceland, will be streaming Aldrei For Eg Sudur, an Icelandic music festival taking place this weekend in Iceland’s Westfjords, live online via its website.

Aldrei For Eg Sudur, which takes place this year between 6-7th April, brings together live performances from local bands with the biggest names in the Icelandic music scene, all surrounded by the beautiful mountain slopes and quaint, colourful town houses of Isafjordur.

The music festival first began as an idea between Icelandic musician Mugison and his father, both of them Isafjordur natives. They were both keen to showcase the town’s vibrant music scene, and wanted to have as much fun as possible while doing it.

The festival has gone from strength to strength since beginning in 2004, with festival-goers praising the relaxed atmosphere, unique location and the consistently strong festival line-up.

Inspired by Iceland streamed Aldrei For Eg Sudur 2011, and due to its success will again be streaming the festival live via its website this year.

Bands scheduled to play at this year’s festival include Sykur, Muck, Retro Stefson, Skalmold, Mugison, Klysja, Dukkulísur, Pollaponk, Gudrid Hansdottir, Jon Jonsson, and many more.
