JMW Takes Enquiries from Game Group Employees, Advises Class Action Could Secure Them Thousands of Pounds of Compensation

Former employees of Game Group could be entitled to thousands of pounds of compensation, after the company went into administration this week.

That’s according to Manchester law firm JMW, which is currently in the process of dealing with numerous enquiries from ex-Game Group workers who were made redundant as a result of the company’s financial problems.

Some 277 of the firm’s 610 UK stores are closing with immediate effect, with more than 2,000 staff members losing their jobs this week.

As a result, a number of those affected have gone to JMW for legal advice from its specialist employment law team, where there is now potential for a group employment action against Game Group.

JMW states those affected stand an even better chance of recovering compensation by getting involved in the class action, and calls for other ex-Game Group workers to join and strengthen the claim.

Carl Moran, a partner in the employment law team, says: "Our specialist employment lawyers are very experienced in dealing - and succeeding - with no win, no fee group actions and are working on similar cases as we speak.

“Although this particular case is at a very early stage, it looks as though each employee affected could be entitled to thousands of pounds worth of compensation, potentially rising to more as the case progresses and more people get involved with the group action.”
