Anthony Davis continues to show why he is considered one of the most dominant players on the defensive end in years. The kid is just a freshman, but has been the primary reason the Kentucky Wildcats are able to create high percentage offensive opportunities in transition. The 6-10, 220 pounder is averaging 4.6 blocks per contest, which has enabled the team to get out in the open floor, and get easy baskets.
In order for Louisville to be in position to pull off the upset win, the team is going to have to do a better job in the rebounding department, as the Wildcats had 14 offensive boards in the first meeting. The Cardinals must be able to get defensive stops, and prevent second chance points, if they have any hope of being one of the two teams playing on Monday night.
Thomas Robinson and Jared Sullinger are the leading scorers for there teams, and both players will go head to head, as Kansas takes on Ohio State in the second game on Saturday night. Robinson on the season averaged 17.9 points per game, and pulled down 11.8 rebounds. The 6-10 237 pound junior though has struggled thus far in the tournament, as he was just 2-12 from the field in the 63-60 win over Purdue, and followed that up with a 7-17 performance against North Carolina State, and 6-16 against the Tar Heels.
Sullinger continues to shoot the basketball well at a efficient rate, as the Sophomore shot over 50 percent from the field in recent victories over Gonzaga, Cincinnati and Syracuse.
