New App Launches With Amateur Promotion

The world of advertising is constantly changing. It needs to in order to hold our attention. As the market for ’real’ advertising is reaching fever-pitch, many brands are choosing the average Joe in their commercials rather than the supermodel next door. It makes the product seem more accessible to the consumer. Make My Solution owner, Shane Rayner has chosen to take things a step further. “I’m getting amateurs to make my ads,” Shane explains. Its a simple concept, offer the kind of incentive that will attract regular people to have a go rather than a professional company. “I’d prefer to have people who actually use my app tell others about it. It’s 30 seconds of them being themselves. They focus on one feature (like how Make My Groups makes fair teams super-fast) then they upload it and others get to vote on which video they like the best.”
 
And will these ads ever make it to network television? “Not likely,” exclaims Shane. Some of the most successful marketing campaigns don’t use any traditional media. Companies like Google and Facebook make the majority of their massive revenue through advertising. “They are very good at what they do,” explains Shane, “they connect you with the people and information that you care about and it doesn’t cost a cent! I advertise with Facebook and this current competition is all run through the Make My Groups Page on Facebook.” Shane continues, “it’s a much fairer landscape for advertising. Small businesses can get started with ads at low cost that hit their target market. If the ads are good, people will share them for you! That’s the nature of viral marketing.”
