Weezer guitarist Brian Bell Sets His Rock and Roll Act on a Rocky Road

Los Angeles, CA - February 26, 2012 - The Relationship’s long-time followers had all but given up hope that a tour would materialize. But between the hard rocking schedules of its members, the band has carved out a sweet slice of West Coast tour action.

Starting in San Francisco on March 15th 2012, the tour is dubbed “The West Coast Special 2012.” Befitting the band’s maritime themed debut, the bands first tour doglegs up the West Coast to Vancouver and back down to San Diego opening for Rooney front man Robert Schwartzman.

The bands are a natural fit. Both deal in the romance, iconography and attitudes of the West. Both performers are easy-going and down to earth, but adventurous and free-spirited. This bill is sure to deliver nightly doses of warm fuzzy rock and roll.

For his part, Brian has enjoyed remarkable success as a musician, yet has always felt the presence of things lurking under the surface, things that must be grappled with in order to fulfill his personal odyssey. It compelled him to reconnect with Nate Shaw (Die Hunns, US Bombs) and the early bonds that forged them into rock n roll “lifers”. Recognizing Nate as the Tom Sawyer to his Huck Finn, Brian proposed an adventure. He explains: “Radical measures had to be taken to bring this darkness into light—make no mistake, an artist is at war.  To engage, we had to harness the true American poetry of love and revolution: rock and roll.  Armed with guitars, lines were drawn between our enemies and ourselves.” And with that they charted their improbable course.

Independently, with the tools and weapons available and at the times and places of their choosing, The Relationship intends to forcibly insert more ‘roll’ into the rock genre.
