Application is interoperable with Avaya IP telephony and contact center solutions

For Immediate Release:

ATLANTA – Witness Systems (NASDAQ: WITS), a leading global provider of workforce optimization software and services, today announced that Impact 360™, its comprehensive workforce optimization solution, is compliant with key IP telephony and contact center solutions from Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The packaged Impact 360 workforce optimization solution powered by Avaya, which includes quality monitoring/full-time recording, workforce management, performance management and e-learning capabilities, has been successfully compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager 3.1, the company’s industry-leading IP telephony software. With Impact 360, organizations can capture, analyze and act on cross-functional information that impacts the performance of their contact center workforce, customer interactions and customer service processes.

“Being rated Avaya compliant signifies another milestone for our Impact 360 Workforce Optimization solution, which is sold by Avaya and its Business Partners,” said John Bourne, senior vice president of global product management, Witness Systems. “Building on the scalability of the Avaya Communication Manager 3.1 platform, the Impact 360 Workforce Optimization Packages – powered by Avaya – scale to approximately 800 users on a single server. This reduces the total cost of ownership of the software-based Impact 360 solutions, providing outstanding value to customers as compared to proprietary-based offerings.”

Witness Systems is a Premier member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program – an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network. As a member of the program, Witness Systems is eligible to submit its solutions for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-breed capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure – speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

Through the DeveloperConnection program, Avaya provides a number of tools and capabilities to member companies. One example is Application Enablement Services (AES) – a set of application programming interfaces, protocols and Web services that makes it easier for developers to create Avaya-compatible networks, devices and applications. Witness Systems used AES to build Avaya interoperability into its Impact 360 software.

“By offering compliance testing to innovative companies like Witness Systems that are members of our DeveloperConnection program, Avaya promotes interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. “They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line.”
