LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY™ Methods to be Utilized at the Sustainability Conference in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
On February 27, 2012, the StrategicPlay® Group based near Vancouver, BC, will be facilitating a large multi stakeholder conversation at the Building Sustainable Communities Conference.
Vital components of a sustainable community structure will be explored using LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY™, a 3D thinking tool. Areas such as leadership, arts and culture, builders, developers and architects, planning, administration, infrastructure and utilities, business finance and economic development, health and wellness, education, communications and public engagement, the environment, and agriculture and food, will all be explored and connected via a LEGO® landscape model to illustrate how the system of our communities is interdependent.
“Using the LEGO® system, delegates will be building a deeper understanding of this important topic one brick at a time. This is a facilitated session, which paves the way for richer conversations to occur, insight to develop, understanding to be gained, and commitments to be made,” explained Jacqueline Lloyd Smith of StrategicPlay®.
“What a wonderful metaphor to use LEGO® bricks to illustrate the need for people to build, work, think, collaborate, create, problem solve and innovate together with a simple brick system that allows for 3D thinking. Most people know that the LEGO® system is a learning and educational toy – and at this conference education and enlightenment form the underpinning for multi-disciplined groups to work and grow together. We are really excited about this conference and look forward to a positive and productive workshop,” said Jacqueline.
