TicketNetwork and Other Local Businesses Donate to HYPE’S Tons of Toys

[South Windsor, CT – December 21, 2011] – TicketNetwork and several other local businesses are working with Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE) this holiday season to help make this year’s Tons of Toys event the biggest yet. Tons of Toys is an annual holiday networking and charitable giving event sponsored by HYPE and features live music and delicious food. Admission to this event is twenty dollars, or free with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. All admission fees and toys collected are donated to local radio station 96.5 TIC’s We Are the Children Toy Drive, which benefits children in need from across the state.

Each year, in preparation for the event, HYPE reaches out to local businesses for donations that go toward a massive toy-buying spree. This year, TicketNetwork, the Greater Hartford Jaycees  and Webster Bank all made donations of $1,000 and several other local businesses gave $500 toward the spree. TicketNetwork went beyond a monetary donation and also filled a stretch limo with toys donated by company employees at their annual holiday party. The 166 new toys collected by TicketNetwork were dropped off by company representatives during Tons of Toys.

At the 2010 Tons of Toys event, HYPE collected a record-setting 950 toys, but committee members are looking to break that record again this year. The local business sponsors have already stepped up their 2011 donation by giving $2,000 more than last year, and HYPE committee members are challenging event attendees to do the same.
