New York, NY, December 15, 2011- After announcing $5 million in equity financing two months ago, LocalResponse, the advertising platform and service that helps marketers respond to “check-ins”, has doubled its staff this year to 17 total and opened its Chicago office, focused on sales to the Midwestern United States.

Since June of this year, LocalResponse has worked with advertisers like Audi, Cadbury-Adams, Coca-Cola, Dell, Estee Lauder, FedEx, General Electric, General Mills, General Motors, Hershey’s, Kmart, Loews, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Pepsi, USA Networks, Verizon, and Walgreens. Average click through rates are tracking above 60% (sample userflow attached in accompanying PDF).

LocalResponse aggregates “explicit check-ins” from check-in services, such as Foursquare, and creates “implicit check-ins” from natural language and geo-tags in updates and photos on social networks like Twitter and Facebook. LocalResponse’s first product helps marketers respond to these individuals in context with a relevant ad/offer.

LocalResponse is announcing two extensions of its platform in Q1 2012, including a display ad product and a SaaS analytics platform for brands and agencies to self-serve campaigns.

LocalResponse added on a head of advertising innovation, Dmitry Kroshka, Mr. Kroshka’s background includes senior product and account roles at Draft/FCB and IMC2, two powerhouse digital agencies whose New York businesses he helped build. He also provided strategic thinking and digital product development for various media and ad-tech startups, including ESPN Mobile, Lifetime Television, Time Media, Nuvo TV, Soapbox Mobile and venture-backed envIO Networks.

The Chicago office is headed by Todd Hayes, 2010 IAB Salesperson of the Year for the MidWest, and comes to Local Response from 24/7 Real Media. His professional background is rooted in 6 years of ad network and media agency experience at major shops including PHD, Mediaedge:cia and Mindshare working on Fortune 500 accounts such as Daimler Chrysler, IKEA, Motorola and Unilever.

“The Mid-West is a very important region for our company’s growth and we are happy to have someone of Todd’s caliber leading the charge.  Our platform provides mobile activation for the important verticals in the Mid-West such as retailers and CPG where we are delivering double digit performance” says Kathy Leake, President of LocalResponse.
