With over 6 million downloads on iOS, freemium shooter game launches on Android

Las Vegas, NV – December 14, 2011 – Craneballs Studios LLC (www.craneballs.com), the developer behind successful iOS games such as SuperFall, SuperRope, Blimp and others, announced today that its popular iOS game, Overkill, is now available on Android as well. With more than 6 million downloads and a 4 and half star rating on iOS, Overkill is a free-to-play shooter game featuring an array of weapons, fierce enemies and spectacular, high-definition graphics.

The game starts with the player immersed in a world set in the not too distant future. Civilized society has collapsed and the player has been hired as a mercenary with a mission to kill all he crosses. On the Battlefield players use an array of increasingly powerful weapons to eliminate anything that stands in their way. A bounty is paid for everything that is killed and destroyed, and with their reward the player can buy weapons or upgrades. Players will fight through 20 waves in each of 5 Battlefields that the game offers. After beating 20 waves there is a massive Hell wave. Players can also choose which wave they want to play so if they can’t progress further they can always go back and slaughter more enemies.

“Overkill has experienced tremendous success on iOS – our users have spent more than 500 years in total time playing it – and we are proud to provide Android users with the same action-packed experience,” said Martin Chamrad, co-founder and CEO of Craneballs Studios. “Overkill might just be our most intense user experience yet, with high production graphics and artwork, and the display screens and graphic capabilities of most Android devices are sure to make the experience even more lifelike.”

While the game is free to download, some powerful weapons and upgrades have been locked. Players can acquire them only for Overkill Medals (OM). There are several ways how to get OM: Free OM using Tapjoy offerwall (downloading and opening apps from Android Market), sharing Overkill with friends, and of course via In App Purchase. As the player progresses in the game they improve their rank, there are 30 ranks in the game from Private to General. For each promotion they also get 1 OM.

The Gun shop is big part of Overkill experience. There are 14 weapons, from AK-47, M4, SCAR, MP7 to RPG, RG6, MSR, MAG or MG4, and 5 parts to upgrade: Stock, Cartridge, Barrel, Score and Foregrip. That’s over 100 combinations! Players can even upgrade a weapon the way they like, take a snapshot and send it to a friend.

Overkill features 84 achievements, 9 leaderboards, and detailed stats for a measuring player’s progress. Craneballs Studios continue their dedication to an enhanced playing experience by using high-definition graphics and atmospheric music and sound effects.

Overkill is immediately available for all Android devices using version 2.1 or above. The game can be downloaded in the Android Market or at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.craneballs.android.overkill.
