Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Many Parents Struggle to Help with Homework

Parents feel frustrated and inadequate about not being able to help with homework.

School teacher Katrina Kahler said that parents have been dismayed and disappointed in their children’s results and solves this problem.

“Many parents are willing to help with homework but don’t quite know how,” said Mrs Kahler.

"So many children have missed out on learning the basics and then really struggle with more difficult work.”

“They enter high school and fall behind as they haven’t learnt the skills they need.”

Mrs Kahler and her business partner and fellow teacher Karen Campbell decided that it was time to do something to improve this situation and show parents how to help with homework.

Help with Homework for Kids is a 10 DVD series which demonstrates to parents how to teach the literacy and numeracy skills, strategies and techniques their children must learn if they are to succeed at school.

Mrs Kahler said the program:

  • Shows parents how and what to teach their kids and assists in improving their literacy and numeracy skills so they are more prepared for high school
  • Demonstrates to parents the correct methods and terminology to use so they can help with homework and school work
  • Eliminates the need for expensive tutoring programs and fees
