This is the latest in Ms. Charleston’s  benefit performances for Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang (http://www.holeinthewallgang.org) which was founded in 1988, and is a non-profit, year-round center serving children and their families coping with cancer and other serious illnesses. All services they provide are free of charge. Charleston’s expertise as a storyteller combined with her talent crafting soulful ballads are the cornerstones of her latest CD Who Knows Where the Time Goes. The former PrimeTime Live and NBC News journalist honed her skills as a storyteller while working in network television. She earned a degree from Juilliard in classical music.

Rondi’s appearance at Snug Harbor continues the October series of benefit performances by the jazz vocalist, singer songwriter. Upcoming performances are on October 25 at Reinhardt University (www.reinhardt.edu), Waleska, Georgia; October 28 at Princess Theater (www.princesstheatreinc.com),  Winnsboro, LA; and Acadiana Center For The Arts (www.acadianacenterforthearts.org), Lafayette, Louisiana.

Charleston is a native of Chicago and makes New York home-base for her activities as a singer songwriter and in the jazz music arena. Her work has garnered compliments from the jazz music press. She is an Emmy and Peabody-winning investigative journalist who worked alongside Diane Sawyer at TV’s PrimeTime Live, where she fine-tuned her storytelling skills.

Her new jazz CD release, Who Knows Where the Time Goes, showcasing her creativity as a singer songwriter and in jazz music is the product of blending her diverse careers in media and music - notably jazz music and as a singer songwriter. Her compositions embody honest words, skillful writing, and intelligent music - and her style is a combination of the simplicity of a Top 40 pop tune and the best of the Great American Songbook. She is noted for her luminous sound, her lithe and flexible rhythmic sense, and her rich timbral quality.
