Brighton, 2nd June, 2006, Sigmer Technologies, an IT solutions provider, today announced that it has expanded its Head Office management with two new appointments in the technical and operations divisions. Peter Kelly has joined as Technical Director and John Archibald joins as Director of Operations. In addition, Sigmer’s Malcolm Mcllhagga has moved from Technical Director to the new role of Technical Sales Director, in order to focus on business development.

Peter Kelly has over ten years of experience in software development and has held several senior positions in development, consultancy and management in the U.K. and Australia. Peter brings to Sigmer comprehensive Quality and Project Management skills, and a strong understanding in delivering business-critical solutions. Peter is experienced in the areas of application, database, web, e-commerce, e-learning and digital television, and holds an MSc in Computer Science. Peter has provided technology solutions to the finance, banking, public, private and media sectors, including Nickelodeon, Big Brother (Endemol), Teletext, The Football Association, William Hill, Norwich Union, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and Halifax. This appointment adds depth to Sigmer’s technical capabilities, providing a robust framework within which Sigmer’s technical division can grow into new markets and technical environments. Peter will ensure that the correct infrastructure, project management and quality processes are implemented, so that Sigmer will continue to deliver high quality solutions to its current and future clients.

Peter Kelly comments, “Sigmer’s strength over other software development agencies is that it bridges the technology divide; Sigmer has the capability to develop and deliver in Microsoft, LAMP and Java environments. Being proficient in multiple technologies allows Sigmer to provide the best solution for each client. It is both exciting and rewarding to be part of a progressive organisation that has such a wealth of technical expertise.”

John Archibald’s responsibility as Director of Operations includes Product Management, Partner Programmes, Marketing, PR and Tendering. John has worked for 25 years in the industry and has a passion for delivering customer service of the highest level. John will draw on his extensive experience in the development and delivery of packaged and bespoke technology solutions to commercial and public-sector organisations in the U.K., Europe and U.S.A. As an advocate of improving quality and efficiency of business operations, John has lead organisational transformation programmes in a number of complex organisations, such as U.K. Defence establishments, the NHS and the European Commission. He has also worked in U.K. Financial Services for GE Capital and First National Bank. John also served for four years on the board of Manpower Software Plc, a software vendor selling into U.K. Defence, NHS, and Cruise and Maritime.

John Archibald comments, “Sigmer Technologies is growing rapidly and I am pleased to have the opportunity to join at such a critical time. As we become larger, and the profile of our revenue becomes more product-based, a key challenge will be to continue to listen to our customers. We are focused on meeting this challenge and to consistently deliver good value and high quality at every stage of our customer relationship. The next phase of growth is already underway and the pipeline of products is growing: a new version of Scribe website content management system, version 3, is due for release shortly; and we are also developing new electronic survey software. This is a very exciting period for Sigmer and I am looking forward to helping shape the company’s future.”

Niall McCrae, Managing Director of Sigmer, said about the appointments: “Sigmer has grown from a two-man start-up in 1999, to a 25 person company with an extensive and varied client list. Our strategy for the next three years is to continue to grow organically and this requires investment in our management team. The implementation of the new management structure and the recruitment of John and Peter are key milestones in this growth. These appointments ensure that we have the correct skills in the right places and can continue to deliver high quality, good value solutions to our customers.”

Malcolm McIlhagga set up Sigmer Technologies with Niall McCrae in 1999 and following the company’s growth, Malcolm has moved to the new role of Technical Sales Director.

Malcolm McIlhagga commented, “Presenting appropriate technical solutions to potential clients is complex but my in-depth understanding of Sigmer’s offering allows me to communicate effectively with the client to achieve this. My whole career has been in the technical environment and the move from systems design to Sales means that Sigmer can be confident that their sales approach will be driven by client understanding and not sales rhetoric. Meeting the expectations of our potential clients is undoubtedly good business practice for both parties.”
