Hyundai’s smallest hatchback might soon become the year’s biggest hit vehicle. On October 14, the Indian market will witness the unveiling of the Hyundai Eon, the smallest hatchback that the company has ever produced.

Selling of this hotly-anticipated vehicle will commence soon after the launch. Advance bookings from eager auto fanatics will also be accepted starting October 13.
Another milestone for the Korean car maker, Hyundai Eon is a five-door hatchback subcompact to be launched in India, the largest and most populous democracy in the world. With this new offering, Hyundai is aiming to attract first time buyers in this fast-developing country.

Hyundai Eon is the entry-level offering of the South Korean manufacturer. While small, this car is designed to redefine the standards for its vehicle class. The brainchild of the Hyundai R&D centers in Namyang, South Korea and Hyderabad, India. The Hyundai Eon is powered by an 814cc gasoline engine with a maximum power of 56 bhp—great for powering a car as small as this one. The Hyundai Eon experience is enhanced with power and tilt steering, drive side airbag, keyless entry, front power window, and music system.

Sleek and trendy, Hyundai designed Eon with its futuristic Fluidic Sculpture design theme—the same design structure used in the mid-sized sedan Verna, which Hyundai have also just released. Hyundai Eon sports some new age stylish features on the exteriors. That includes new designer wheel covers, rear spoiler, front fog lamps, body colored bumpers, door handles, and OSVRMs (outside rear view mirrors), and many more. Aside from those, the Eon has an aggressive front profile, akin to the trendy hatchback i10.

Hyundai Eon’s rear is curvy, then gets gradually wider. Elongated and squeezed taillights give it a unique look and set it apart from the Nissan Micra and Maruti Alto. A beam type rear suspension provides more stability and comfort. It comes devoid of a quarter glass on the rear door, enhancing the sportiness of the car.  Though petite-looking from the outside, Hyundai Eon offers a roomy feel within. It is made with a wider and taller inside space, which translates to a larger head room and shoulder room for driver and passengers. Inside this hatchback, three adult passengers can comfortably ride the rear seat at a time due to its wider body frame.

Hyundai EON Price
: To compete with the incredibly-low-priced vehicles now available in India, Hyundai has to keep the price down for Eon’s base variant. Thus, it will not sport too many extraneous features although it will still be made comfortable and convenient. It will have air-conditioning, adjustable power steering, all four power windows, multi trip meter, and integrated front seat headrests. The base variant—called D-Lite—is expected to sell at around Rs 2.7 lakhs.

Aside from this, there will be five other Hyundai Eon Variants of varying price range, with rates going up as the variants are loaded with more features. Aside from the Hyundai Eon D-Lite, there will also be the Hyundai Eon D-Lite (O), the Hyundai Eon Era, the Hyundai Magna, the Hyundai Eon D-Lite Magna (O) and Hyundai Eon Sportz.
