“Participating in this competition enables students to engage with industry early on, and provides a valuable opportunity to confront real-world problems that are similar to what they may face after graduation,” said Connie Smallwood, vice president, Innovation and University Programs, CA Technologies. “This year’s regional competitions, conducted in a virtual environment rather than a physical one, closely reflects the way business operates in today’s connected world.”

Prior to arriving at CA World, the student teams will be provided with a case study of a company that is in the throes of change, and evaluate its IT department and infrastructure. During the competition, each team will present their recommendations on how the company can adapt and align technology to better support the changing business environment.

“The competition experience, provided by this industry-academic collaboration, provides significant lessons that will be beneficial to the professional growth of the students and their ability to link IT and its strategic value to business,” said Dr. Ramesh Venkataraman, professor and chairman, MS in Information Systems Program, Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. “As educators, we embrace such opportunities for our students.”

The winning teams will be announced at a dinner reception and award ceremony on Tuesday, November 15. Cash prizes will be awarded to the teams that place in the top three positions.
