Leaders to Discuss Challenges Facing Small Businesses and Ideas for Success

The series will be held over three weeks and each Tweet Chat will feature a different small business expert who will discuss important topics for entrepreneurs"including Recession Proof Your Small Business, Make Your Advertising Pay Off and Branding on a Shoestring Budget.

The virtual Boost Your Small Business Tweet Chat series will take place on three consecutive Thursdays in October, and the moderator will be Brian Wharton, a former 15-year small business owner and current marketing manager for FedEx Office. To attend these sessions on Twitter, participants should follow the #fedexsmallbiz hashtag at the following times.

* October 6, 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT: There are lessons learned after the recent recession on how to protect a small business from future economic unrest. Melinda Emerson (@SmallBizLady) will provide advice on how to recession proof your small business. Emerson is the host of #Smallbizchat, a weekly talk show on Twitter, and the best-selling author of “Become Your Own Boss in 12 Months; A Month-by-Month Guide to a Business that Works.”
* October 13, 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT: Successful advertising for a small business can reach new and existing customers to drive business. John Jantsch (@ducttape) will lead a discussion focusing on how to make advertising pay off through a targeted online and offline approach for entrepreneurs. * October 20, 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m.: Whether a new or established small business, there are cost effective strategies to develop or re-create branding.
