iPhone Application Development Company Creates App that Ultimately Save Lives

When Matt White and Nathan Ooley first met over the phone, there seemed to be an instant connection. White, owner of children’s t-shirt company Ize-T (www.ize-t.com), had approached Ooley with an idea for an iPhone application for his t-shirt business. What struck Ooley most was not just the app idea itself, but rather the idea behind the app. Ize-T’s slogan is “T-shirts for kids, by kids, to help kids.” With every shirt purchased, an insecticide-treated bed net is donated to help protect innocent kids in sub-Saharan Africa. A deadly disease that kills nearly 2,000 children every single day, malaria is totally preventable; and a single bed net can help to save the lives of two young children. White’s idea was to create a paid app through which every purchase would also cover the cost of one bed net.
 
“I loved that it was not just about the app and what it would do,” said Ooley, “but it was more about how the app led to a greater cause.”
 
The iPhone development team at Eye Phone Group worked with White and Ize-T to build an fun app that let’s users either take a picture or choose an image from the photo gallery and then virtually design a custom Ize-T shirt that gets placed on the body of the person in the image. There are several shirt options from which to choose, including colors and designs; and the app includes male and female variations, as well.
 
This was the first time White had worked with iPhone app developers, and he was very pleased with the process – from initial strategy to working with Apple to be included in the App Store.
