VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA— —GE Energy (NYSE: GE) Industrial Solutions and GE Capital Fleet Services, continuing to lead the future of EV electrification and drive mass adoption of electric vehicles, will bring GE’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Experience Tour to Canada for the first time on Sept. 15.

The tour includes presentations by GE and industry leaders; educational workshops to support EV planning, deployment and integration strategies; and electric-vehicle test drives. Each tour segment provides a forum for GE experts to connect with local businesses, decision makers and public-sector stakeholders to discuss the business case for EV ecosystems. The tour concludes with an “EV Ride & Drive,” featuring cars and trucks from a number of electric-vehicle manufacturers.

“Vancouver is a perfect place to highlight the growing need for an EV infrastructure to support the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles,” says Chris Bowler, general manager of marketing for GE Energy Industrial Solutions. “Business leaders here are embracing the need for a viable EV ecosystem and setting the standards for Canada’s recent advancements in implementing clean, green energy practices.”

GE Energy Industrial Solutions is hosting the multi-city EV Experience Tour to help businesses and key stakeholders understand technical and business approaches for deploying pure electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. GE’s electric vehicle chargers, including the easy-to-use, award-winning GE WattStation* EV Charging Station, will be featured at the GE EV Experience Tour.

This stop of the GE EV Experience Tour will showcase the installation of several EV charging stations in restaurants, hotels and power facilities in Vancouver. To date, GE Durastation* chargers have been installed at Edible Canada, the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Powertech.

GE has provided electrical distribution products for more than 100 years and can offer a full suite of solutions − from leasing and vehicle-management services to a network of charging stations, charging software development, customer-infrastructure upgrades and electrical-grid integration.
